Sallie trained as a teacher at Jordahill College of Education in Glasgow Scotland. After her early years in the classroom she completed an additional qualification in art and returned to Jordanhill to work for seven years in the art and craft department.
In 1970 she joined the staff tutor team and worked alongside Fred Rendell and Steve Bell giving inservice courses for teachers in the local area. The approach which was first developed at that time came to be known as ‘Storyline’ and it has been adopted and adapted in many countries.
Sallie has travelled in Europe, the USA, and the Far East introducing Storyline practice and principles.
She has a particular interest in promoting language and literacy and has authored many book-based Storylines as well as contributing to several books on the Storyline approach. Now more than twenty years into retirement from Jordanhill Sallie is still active in presenting Storyline workshops and in designing new Storylines.
Sallie lives at home with her cat and enjoys golf, gardening and creative embroidery.
